Design-a-Boardgame: Worker Placement Edition

We’ll teach you the principles, help you brainstorm a theme, give you materials, coach you through the process, then playtest your creations

Move over Paint Nite, there’s a new make-a-thing-that-you-would-expect-to-come-out-really-poorly-but-it’s-surprisingly-good-and-now-you-get-to-take-it-home-and-enjoy-it in town. That’s right, you can make your own board game. And by board game, we’re not talking about some Candy Land ripoff, we’re talking a legit worker-placement strategy game built around the theme of your choice. We’re partnering with a Northeastern professor of board game design (yeah, that’s a thing) to help you make your masterpiece in three hours flat. We’ll teach you the core principles of game design, help you brainstorm a theme, give you all the materials you need, coach you through the process, playtest each other’s games, then give you the next steps if you feel like taking your game to another level when you get home.

Come with your own idea or figure it out on the spot. Come by yourself or with a group of friends, ready to design the game as a team.

A few final details and disclaimers we should give...

1) Tickets are one per person attending. So if a group of three of you are working together, you would not just buy one ticket for the whole group, rather you would still each need to have your own ticket.

2) This event is open to folks ages 21+

3) All tickets are eligible for refund up until 48 hours before the event. After that, we're blowing your money on something fun and non-refundable.
