Lot: Stories (Large Print / Library Binding)
Let it be said that I am a native Houstonian, and I love this collection. "Lot: Stories" is a coming-of-age story of the young son of a black mother and a Latino father, growing up in Houston, Texas. "Lot" displays a side of Houston that most folks don't know of when they think of the southern metropolis. Washington paints a city of intersecting cultures, emerging sexual and racial identity, with a forward, rich cast of characters. From a Houstonian's perspective, I describe the world of "Lot" as real, and Washington's character is a real Houstonian.— Abby V.
